Inversing [0:18]
$10.00
The basic process of calculating the length and direction of a line given the coordinates of its endpoints or the latitude and departure of the line, i.e. inversing, is presented and discussed in detail. It ends with a calculation demonstration involving two non-consecutive points in a traverse. A virtual “homework” problem is presented, allowing time for the learner to pause the video to perform the calculation and then check their work. Running time 18 minutes.
You will learn…
- What the process of inversing is
- What source data is required to calculate inverses
- How to calculate the length and direction of the line
- What the term “normal” is in the context of coordinate geometry (COGO) and how it is used in typical surveying applications
