For our continuing education courses(not training programs), each has been approved by a recognized authority. Most of our courses have been approved by Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. More recently East Tennessee State University reviews and approves them. Both are well-known, and have ABET-accredited surveying programs.
For certain courses, for various reasons, we will use a state body such as the Registration Board for in a particular statei. Our continuing education certificates always indicate the approving authority.

Our courses require an active internet connection to stream the video lectures. The quizzes between lectures and final exam also require an active internet connection.
Slow connections, especially dial up may also cause difficulties even though you have an active internet connection. However access to the courses is not impossible; you may have to wait for responses from our system.
No refunds are offered unless a mistaken purchase is reported via our info@geo-learn.com address within 48 hours stating the details and why the refund request should be accepted.
Most devices (PCs through smart phones) that are connected to the Internet to stream our courses will work. Resolution on phone may not be sufficient for an adequate experience; it depends on you and your device. As the courses are streamed, your download speed is a critical component. Approximately 1-3 Mb/second is a recommended minimum. Upload speeds can be much lower. Even sub-one Mbit/second may be adequate. Obviously much higher rates will produce a more pleasing experience with less pauses.
We suggest you review the “How To Use Our Site” video, which you can access from the home or support pages. You can also use this link. Check our support page for telephone and email support details.
Programs are designed to be self-paced; so it depends on you. Running time of video lectures are found in course descriptions for continuing education courses and included in title for training programs. For continuing education courses, video component is broken up into shorter segments. Required quiz questions are between lecture segments. In addition there is a final exam. Depending on the exact number of questions, plan on about an additional 10 minutes if you wish to complete without a break. We recommend breaks, however. For training programs, there are no quizzes or exams.
All paid continuing education courses have quizzes between lecture segments which you can attempt over and over again until you are able to proceed to the next segment. A final exam is required to complete the course. You have three tries to get a passing grade of 70%.
The course is removed from your My Account page at that time. You will not be able to continue the course, and if you had only partially completed it, you will not be able to complete the remainder. Your best option is to re-purchase the course and complete it within the 100 days.
Course Navigation and Related

Once paid, you will be in the My Account page with all the courses you’ve paid for and any courses you are currently enrolled in shown. Select the course and the sequence of activities to complete the course will be shown. Begin by downloading the course materials (usually one set), usually the PDF of the PowerPoint slides used by the faculty.
More than likely you have not taken the quizzes that are placed below the relevant video . Return to the course and look for the appropriate quiz. These quizzes must be completed to advance.
Professional
We strive to make our content professional, educational and relevant. To help licensing boards who may have concerns, all our courses are approved by an authority that can approve continuing education. These authorities include Texas A&M Corpus Christi, East Tennessee State University and various state boards of licensure.
The approvals from East Tennessee State University and Texas A&M Corpus Christi, and the various licensing boards for a few courses are all legitimate approvals that have been obtained as a pre-approval.
Currently we offer no continuing education credits for our training programs. Give us your feedback if you think some sort of approval might be helpful, especially if you can name an approving authority. Licensing boards and universities and colleges will not do this.
As GeoLearn provides professional continuing education for professionals from around the world, we use the term “1 PDH” to represent one Professional Development Hour. This is not an issue, from our experience. Boards may call these credits PDUs, CEs, etc. The boards are used to seeing these various designations for continuing education and it is not a problem for them.
There is no practical limit to the number of courses. However be aware that your course access lasts 100 days after purchase. Purchasing only as many as you can finish in the allowed time is recommended.
Anyone can take the technician programs. However if you are a licensed professional, be aware that these programs have not gone through the GeoLearn vetting process to be eligible for continuing education credit.. However there are likely to be licensing boards that will accept requests for recognition if you provide the course details.
Anyone can take the continuing education courses. Technicians may or may not be able to offer the proof through our certificates to employers or other certificating authorities for credit in programs for non-licensed professionals and technicians.
The course description will describe the required level of knowledge. We recommend you self-evaluate and perhaps take a more basic course first. For courses that are numbered, especially with training programs, you may want to take them in sequence, although you may be able to determine from the description if you can skip one or more prior courses.
