This presentation applies the guidelines and expert knowledge discussed in the previous sessions relating to unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) and computer vision (CV) project accuracy. The UAS/CV professional will be lead through a real UAS/CV project and learn how to determine UAS/CV map accuracy through quality assurance and control methods. This project will be discussed as it relates to guidelines such as avoiding adverse weather, collecting imagery beyond your project, flying lower heights above ground level (AGL) and maximizing image overlap. These guidelines and more, are used to maximize redundancy and produce results with the desired accuracy. The viewer will be shown how to accomplish survey control and check points to control and evaluate UAS/CV data accuracy on a real dataset. The results will be independently evaluated with the latest map accuracy standards that will indicate the level of accuracy achieved.
Objectives
- Learn how to evaluate UAS Mission quality
- Apply precautions regarding primary and secondary negative effects on UAS/CV project accuracy.
- Learn how to independently determine the map accuracy of a UAS/CV project.
