This course has two parts. The first part covers the corner registration requirements for Land Surveyors in Missouri. It includes a discussion of documentation and the process of creating that documentation by covering the statutes and regulations that apply, explaining and defining the terms used. The second part involves Missouri’s Mapping Survey Standards (2 CSR 90-64). In it the regulations are discussed together with check methods for evaluating map accuracy, including extensive use of examples.
Objectives:
- Understand the research procedures through review of the pertinent statutes and regulations associated with the corner registration program.
- Review the entire process of completing a certified land corner document.
- Cover a wide area of frequently asked questions and answers.
- Learn the regulations and purpose of the Missouri Mapping Survey Standards.
- Learn the definitions of terms and classes of map accuracy used in the Standards.
- Learn through numerous examples how accuracy of mapped points is checked.
- Understand the components of the certification that must appear on the map.
