This 45-minute course covers aspects of researching and studying for what you need to comply with to take, and studying you need to do to pass the NCEES FS and PS exams and the state-specific or jurisdictional exam. Joe Paiva gives you tips on how to study and organize your materials when it comes to the content you will be tested on. But he also focuses on the administrative (you could say bureaucratic) aspects of preparing to take the exam by helping you figure out how to find out what paperwork you need to file, how much the fees are, and what the schedules are to take the test at a particular time. Also covered in the course is advice on other valuable information provided by NCEES such as the reference handbooks distributed by NCEES, typical questions booklets for the FS and PS, and how to review the licensing board’s website to get all the details you might miss if you’ve only scanned the website (or even not had a look!). Finally, Dr. Paiva covers books you might want to read to prepare for the exam and if your state’s specific exam is open book, he gives you advice on a set of books you might take with you. The overall purpose is to help you PREPARE to take the test and then on the day of the test TAKE it successfully.

NOTE: This course is not approved for Continuing Education (PDH) credit.
