Angle measurement systems conversion, right triangle solution. Using the Pythagorean theorem, slope function and hints at trigonometric functions are provided. We will relate slope to the trigonometric function of Tangent. We conclude with examples of a line intersection to parallel lines, solving for the intersection angles. Then we move on to a line intersecting two non-parallel lines, to add to the complexity by relating the two non-parallel lines from their known bearings or azimuths. Running time 27 minutes.
You will learn…
- Systems of angle measurement including degrees, minutes and seconds, and grads
- Solving simple right triangle problems using the Pythagorean theorem and slope values
- Calculating process for angles of intersection between one line and two other parallel lines
- Calculating process for angles of intersection between a line and two other non-parallel lines
- The conversion process to interchange degrees, minutes, and seconds values to decimal degrees and vice versa
